Easter...

This year for Easter, Greg and I wanted to surprise the kids with a puppy. Some of their friends they spend a lot of time with got dogs for Christmas, so our kids thought it would be fun to become a dog family. We found the cutest puppy and picked him up on Saturday night at 10:30, so we could surprise the boys in the morning. They were so happy Sunday morning and spent the entire day with the puppy. Unfortunately Creed's skin seemed to be sensitive to the dog and he had a constant runny nose from the time he started touching the puppy. The owner was very nice and said she had someone else that would take the dog, so we returned the puppy on Tuesday night. The kids were devastated and so sad. We knew we could always get another dog, but wanted to figure out what was going on with Creed first. Creed is doing much better and hopefully he will outgrow his sensitivity to dogs and we will be able to get a dog in the near future.

Poor Creed! Such sweet brother's to understand about why the dog couldn't stay. I am sure that was hard for all of you.

McKenzie is allergic to dog dander. No rash, but gets terrible congestion and burning eyes.

I hope they can help Creed so you can become a dog family.

Oh man, that stinks! He was a cute puppy though. I'm just glad to see you updated your blog. Now we just need to work on everyone else (I'm talking about you, Hilary, Shelly, Christine and Amber!!!)

I hope that Creed starts to do better! Poor baby boy. I hope he can outgrow that allergy reaction too. I know that Colton and Crew were heartbroken. So sad. Love you! Can't wait to see you all on Thursday.

Champ was so adorable, I am sorry it didn't work out. Creed looks really splotchy in the picture so it is probably best. What good parents you guys are. Love you and miss you! : )

Emily, you don't have to give up on the dog idea just yet! The exact same thing happened with Logan and I after we tried a yorkie and then a min pin. We were so allergic to both, even though they are supposed to be hypo-allegenic. The only dog we have ever found that we have zero reaction to is maxie dog. So try Creed around Max, and if he does okay, then a maltese or a maltipoo is your solution!

There are certainly dogs that don't shed much or have much dander (look into it). Your boys look in Heaven with that little puppy. Sorry about Creed. Steven was that way when he was growing up but he did grow out of it as he got older.

It's fun catching up on your blog. You are an absolutely amazing and beautiful mother. I hope we can see each other (maybe Christmas?) and do some catching up in person! Love you!

Oh my, I can relate to that. Tayler can just look at a cat from a mile away and his eyes swell up and he breaks out in hives. It's scary when they react like that cause you never know just how severe it may become. You can be like me and get them the greatest pets out there: stuffed animals :)
Hope you are enjoying your temporary home. I met another family that is going to be your neighbors, the Petersens.
