We went to the Rexburg temple open house on Thursday. Our experience I am sure are like many of yours, but I wanted to document my feelings and thoughts, so my boys could read this in a few years and hopefully remember some of the things they felt. We went with our wonderful friends Donevan and Christine and their sweet girls. It was so fun watching their reactions compared to the boys reactions. The girls were definitely more aware of the beauty that surrounded them, where as the boys were more about the deer painting and the ox surrounding the baptismal font. When we asked the boys what their favorite part of the night was, Colton said, "I loved when the girl put the white protective booties on my feet." Cannon said, "I liked the ox." Although these are just little things in the boys minds, I hope they will remember how excited Mom and Dad were to take them to this beautiful special building. I hope they know how important it is to strive to go inside for themselves one day. Greg and I love the temple. We love that we are an eternal family. It was fun to have this special family experience so close to our home. I can't wait to go do a session in this temple.
After the temple, we went and ate at a fun little hamburger joint. We went to Big Jud's. Big Jud's has the biggest hamburgers I have ever seen in my life. They are as big as my head. They also have really good homemade fries and fry sauce. We laughed so hard the first time we went there because our clothes reeked of grease so strongly we had to wash everything we were wearing. We say when we go there that we eat our grease in take for the whole year. But aren't these types of places the best. Good food. YUM.
